"Bring some light into the cold, dark winter months with these beautiful translucent lanterns. Using versatile porcelain Paper clay ceramicist Emily Joy will show you how to create a series of lanterns in a variety of shapes using paper-thin sections, embossing and printing methods.
Porcelain Paper clay is a truly exciting material which combines the qualities of porcelain but with added paper-fibre to allow increased malleability and to allow you to break the rules of working with normal clay. Once fired the porcelain lanterns become very translucent and will glow beautifully with a candle or electric lighting, creating wonderful three-dimensional effects where objects and patterns have been pressed into the clay.

All the materials and tools are included, plus tea and biscuits for break times. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners or experienced ceramicists.
Your lanterns will be fired after the workshop and will be available to collect from the pottery within a week.
