Weekly Pottery Classes

Our weekly pottery classes are available for all ages, levels and abilities, whether it’s exploring hand building or wheel throwing techniques. Classes are run and organised independently by our experienced tutors who all share the CIC ethos of being an inclusive, encouraging, supportive and accessible to all students who attend.

Pottery Memberships

In addition to classes, we offer a path of progression with our membership options. These are specifically for our potters to develop their own practice, whilst having access to our facilities, and for those who wish to move away from lessons but still have support for questions from our technicians.

Whilst memberships are there to support the development of the potters’ practice, it is not for the production of work to sell.

We do not have the capacity to fire work for outside potters, nor do we fire wild clay.

Studio Space for Multi-disciplinary artists

We also have four separate studios, in our adjoining space, which are rented by multi-disciplinary artists.

Run your workshop or masterclass at Stroud Pottery

Our main studio space is available for hire for practising potters, artists and tutors to run masterclasses and team building workshops in a variety of mediums that are suitable for the space.

Please contact us if you’d like to run a workshop.

Our Pottery

Our Pottery is large and light, which houses two studios. One for hand-building and the other for wheel throwing. Both are fully equipped with an extensive range of equipment to suit all needs.

We have four house clays, an all-purpose stoneware, red terracotta earthenware a white earthenware and a crank stoneware. We have three electric kilns offering scope for large builds and small, a Raku kiln, and we also offer smoke firings from time to time.

Please note that we do not offer a firing service for outside artists and only fire work that is made within our pottery.
