Luca – Apprentice Technician

About Luca

I first got a taste for pottery at about 11 years old, at my school, and ,although I didn’t do it for very long, the experience stuck with me and I always knew that it was something I wanted to come back to. So, in 2022, I joined Stroud Pottery and the wonderful teachers there taught me how to throw and glaze from square one. I now have the privilege of being their apprentice, learning what it takes to run a studio, alongside developing my own practice and finding my style with the support and guidance of the teachers and technician.

I have a background in textiles, having learnt to sew from a very young age, I completed an extended diploma in creative practices and went on to working as a professional seamstress for three years. I now design and make clothing and continue to explore and develop my skills in textiles alongside my pottery journey.
