About Luca

I was first introduced to Pottery at 11 years old, at school, although I was only taught the very basics it stuck with me as something I always wanted to return to as it really felt that I seemed to gravitate towards the wheel in particular. So then, about five years later, I began classes at Stroud Pottery. I was taught by the wonderful teachers , who I now have the privilege of working with, everything from throwing, to trimming, to glazing. I gradually developed my practice over three years, building up my skills and my knowledge. During this time, I was also completing an extended diploma in creative practices as well as working, part-time, as a seamstress.

In 2025 Stroud Pottery offered me an apprenticeship to learn everything that went on behind the scenes of a community Pottery and to be a part of the team. This experience taught me countless skills and boosted my confidence in my knowledge as well as giving me the opportunity to teach and learn from the  Stroud Pottery community. During this time, with support from the Pottery, I got my own little studio which really helped me thrive in my own practice and development.

I now have my own class, alongside my role as head technician, and continue to experiment with new techniques and materials, pushing and developing my practice. Currently, my main area of focus is creating functional, porcelain pieces whilst also refining my making process and experimenting with making glazes.
